Nope, which is why my enthusiasm's tempered by political pragmatism and a hefty amount of angst. I'm all for real democracy, but I've zero tolerance for theocracy, which is what the Muslim Brotherhood, which enjoys the allegiance of a sizable swath of Egypt's professional class, wants. Better Mubarak (or even Saddam!) than Khomeini any day! We can only hope the would-be Middle Eastern revolutionaries of 2011 ruefully remember the disaster of 1979 and choose liberal democracy and progress, not theocracy and madness.
